1. About Us

Mizan is a UK based luxury textile curation house specialising in exclusive hand-knotted Persian-inspired silk rugs woven in Henan. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website at mizanrugs.co.uk and any purchase you make from us.

By accessing our website or placing an order you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

2. Our Contract With You

When you place an order with Mizan you are making an offer to purchase. A contract between us is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email.

We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion — for example if a product becomes unavailable after your order is placed. In this event you will receive a full refund within 5 business days.

3. Pricing

All prices displayed on mizanrugs.co.uk are in British Pounds Sterling (£) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. The price you pay is the price displayed at the time your order is confirmed.

We take reasonable care to ensure all prices on our website are correct. In the event of a pricing error we will contact you before processing your order.

4. Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

Credit and debit cards via Shopify Payments
Bank transfer

Bank Transfer: Payment must be received within 48 hours of placing your order. Your order will not be processed until payment is confirmed. Bank details will be provided in your order confirmation email. Please include your order number as the payment reference.

All card payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments. We do not store your card details at any point.

5. Delivery

All Mizan pieces are dispatched within 24 hours of payment confirmation. Estimated delivery time is 4-12 business days from dispatch to your UK address.

All pieces are shipped on a Delivered Duty Paid basis — all import duties, taxes and customs clearance fees are included. There are no additional charges upon delivery.

A tracking number will be provided by email once your piece has been dispatched.

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only.

While we make every effort to meet delivery estimates these are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control including customs processing times, carrier delays or extreme weather events.

6. Your Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have the right to receive goods that are:

Of satisfactory quality
Fit for purpose

If your piece does not meet these standards please contact us immediately at concierge@mizanrugs.co.uk and we will resolve the matter promptly.

7. Returns & Cancellations

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your piece without giving any reason.

To exercise your right to cancel:

Contact us at concierge@mizanrugs.co.uk within 14 days of delivery
The piece must be returned in its original condition — unused, undamaged and in its original packaging
Return shipping costs are your responsibility for change of mind returns
Your refund will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned piece in satisfactory condition

Damaged or faulty items: If your piece arrives damaged please photograph the damage immediately and contact us at concierge@mizanrugs.co.uk within 24 hours of delivery. We will arrange a full replacement or refund at no cost to you.

Exceptions: Items that have been used, placed on a floor, altered or damaged after delivery cannot be accepted for return unless they arrived faulty.

8. Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law Mizan's liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total price paid for the relevant piece.

We are not liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses
Loss of profit or revenue
Losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

9. Product Descriptions & Imagery

We take every care to ensure our product descriptions and photography accurately represent each piece. However:

Colours may appear slightly different on different screens and in different lighting conditions
Hand-knotted pieces may have minor natural variations — these are inherent to the craft and not defects
All dimensions are approximate — hand-knotted rugs are never perfectly uniform

These natural characteristics are part of what makes each Mizan piece unique and are not grounds for return unless the variation is significant and material.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on mizanrugs.co.uk — including text, photography, product descriptions, the Mizan name and logo — is the intellectual property of Mizan and may not be reproduced, copied or used without our express written permission.

11. Privacy

Your personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available at mizanrugs.co.uk. By placing an order you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except where necessary to fulfil your order.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes To These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of your order applies to that order. We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
